Two people are in New Orleans-area hospitals after separate early morning shootings.

The first happened around 1 a.m. Sunday on Marigny Street near St. Charles Avenue in the Seventh Ward. According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, nearby residents called authorities to report gunfire when the shooting happened. About a half-hour later, a 23-year-old man arrived at a hospital seeking treatment for an arm wound. The NOPD's Major Offense Log says the victim told officers that he was outside a building when someone drove up and began shooting. Police did not disclose the victim's condition.

The second shooting happened just before 4 a.m. on Tullis Drive near Tall Pines Drive in Algiers. The NOPD spokesperson says officers learned about the shooting after the victim arrived at a hospital seeking treatment for a foot wound. According to the MOL, the victim told officers that someone in a dark-colored car pulled up to him and shot him in the ankle.

If you know anything about either shooting, call the NOPD at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
