WGNO reporter earns top honor as finalist for ‘Best On-Air Talent’ for Press Club Awards

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — The finalists have been revealed for the annual Press Club of New Orleans “ Excellence in Journalism Awards .”

Every year, the Press Club of New Orleans recognizes and honors the best in the television business in our city. This year, WGNO’s Kenny Lopez is nominated in the category of “Best On-Air Talent.”

Lopez has been a reporter at WGNO-TV since 2011. He previously won a Press Club Award for his story on the “Playboy Super Bowl party” back in 2013. Watch the video above to see some of Lopez’s finest television moments from the past year.

“What a special honor to be nominated for a 2024 New Orleans Press Club Award. I’m grateful to be here in New Orleans informing, storytelling and entertaining all the New Orleans TV viewers who always treat me like family,” Lopez said.

Presentation of the “Excellence in Journalism Awards” will take place on Aug. 24 at The Cannery in New Orleans.
