BROOKLYN, NY ( FOX 44 ) — Following a fantastic freshman season in Waco, former Baylor center Yves Missi now has an NBA home, after the New Orleans Pelicans drafted him 21st overall.

Missi entered Baylor as a player that was known for his presence on the defensive end. He proved to be just that from the jump, averaging 1.5 blocks per game, while also adding 5.6 rebounds per game as well.

He also showed a vast improvement late in the season on the offensive end, averaging 10.7 points per game this past season as well.

With his selection, Missi becomes the first Baylor center drafted into the NBA since Brian Skinner, who was selected 22nd overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1998 NBA Draft.
