The New Orleans Pelicans didn't have any picks going into the 2nd round of the NBA draft, but they weren't done.

New Orleans has traded pick swaps in 2030 and 2031 to the Orlando Magic in exchange for the No. 47 pick, according to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, which they used to select Kentucky guard Antonio Reeves.

The 6-4, 185-pound Reeves began his career with 3 years at Illinois State before playing his final two collegiate seasons for the Wildcats. He showed to be a prolific scorer in his collegiate season, averaging 20 points and 4 rebounds while shooting well over 40% from the 3-point line.

Reeves will join an intriguing backcourt for the Pelicans that is led by CJ McCollum, though he still doesn't fill the mold of a traditional lead guard, having never averaged more than 1.8 assists in his career. The Pelicans have a pair of lottery picks also developing in their backcourt in 2022 No. 8 overall pick Dyson Daniels and 2023 No. 14 overall pick Jordan Hawkins.

The Pelicans stood pat on Day 1 to select Baylor center Yves Missi at No. 21 overall.
