State Attorney General Liz Murrill is calling for a Supreme Court probe into a New Orleans Juvenile Court Judge and the company contracted to handle juvenile monitoring.

This after a fifteen-year-old, who was supposed to be on an ankle monitor, was accused of a murder in the French Quarter. Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams has joined the call and spoke with Tommy Tucker regarding the disfunction of Juvenile Court.

“What’s happening in Juvenile Court right now is absurd!”

The same juvenile that has been alleged to be the one to pull the trigger in the murder of a beloved New Orleans Tour guide, Kristie Thibodeaux, had already been convicted of serious crimes where the judge in the case released him back into the community.

The sentencing was baffling to Williams who feels it is more evidence that the Juvenile Court is dropping the ball on their part to keep the city safe.

“My team is securing the convictions. We have the information we need to get a guilty verdict beyond a reasonable doubt. But, we have to put kids in jail who have a violent history.”

D.A. Williams says that everyone has a part to play and NOPD along with state police are getting arrests, his team is securing convictions, now the judicial arm needs to hold juvenile defendants accountable.

“We all have a part to play.”
