NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — In the French Quarter, at Le Petit Theatre, a cast of Louisiana kids from ages 8 to 18 sign up to step out onto the stage and sing.

Yes, it’s summer but WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood says this is not a summer camp.

    Not at all.

It’s a two-week show business sort of school.

It’s an academy for kids who want to create a career in theatre.

It’s called the Young Conservatory Program.

Le Petit’s Artistic Director A. J. Allegra says, “Le Petit Theatre is committed to educational programs focused on the training and process, not just the product.”
