New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr recently appeared on Pardon My Take. He discussed a plethora of topics with the hosts, but one narrative stood out around social media.

Carr discussed the passionate rivalries for the Saints. Players care more about games against their rivals, and Carr has learned plenty about New Orleans' in his first two years with the franchise.

Rivalries are part of what makes the NFL so special. They're gritty and sometimes, even personal. For New Orleans, a couple of division rivals stand out as their biggest rivals.

Derek Carr names Falcons and Buccaneers as Saints' biggest rivals

"It didn't take me long, because, literally, like, they talk about the Bucs and Falcons and well, I was like, 'What about the Panthers?' Like the Falcons and the Bucs, like in our building and around town. Like, there's like, a real hatred..."

"For some southern, really kind people, they really hate those teams." -- Carr

Carr also noted that the Bucs rivalry with the Saints has become even more personal over recent years, especially with the Marshon Lattimore/Mike Evans disputes over the years. That makes plenty of sense.

There's not a better WR/CB rivalry around the NFL than those two at the moment.

"They be getting after it... When we come in that week, we're like 'Alright Shon, you got Mike' - he just blacks out, like, for five days... You're like he'll [Lattimore] be ready on Sunday." -- Carr

Clearly, the Saints top cornerback is always prepared for that matchup, and it shows. He has dominated Evans almost annually over the past handful of years. There's no wonder why Evans' emotions get the best of him when Tampa faces New Orleans.

Carr's comments won't shock fans. Many of them will agree that the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers headline their list of biggest rivals in football.
