Dennis Allen's absurd comments continue to prove he isn't the right man for the job

The New Orleans Saints may have the NFL’s worst head coach in Dennis Allen. Despite a 9-8 record in 2023, the team lacks a clear sense of direction and falls into the purgatory of not being good enough to be a contender, but not quite being bad enough to have a top five draft pick.

Not only does Allen not inspire confidence or a proof of concept for the Saints, he doesn’t inspire leadership either. When asked about running back Kendre Miller and his hamstring injury, Allen gave a mind-boggling response.

“Kendre’s got a hamstring,” Allen said. “So, look, that’s a player that’s gonna have to figure out how to stay healthy. Because it’s hard to make the team when you’re in the training room all the time.”

Saying the quiet part out loud is the last thing you want your head coach to do, especially when it pertains to a player’s injury. Why Allen thought that was a good response rather than showing support to his player is beyond me or anyone else, but it’s so blatantly obvious that he should not be the man leading the Saints.
