NOPD: Teen dead, adult wounded in Uptown park shooting

A 15-year-old boy is dead after a shooting in a park in Uptown New Orleans.

New Orleans Police Department officials say the shooting happened just before 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Evans Playground on the Soniat Street side of the park.

According to an NOPD spokesperson, an EMS crew attempted to revive the victim, but he died at the scene. In addition, NOPD investigators say a 25-year-old man was shot. He's listed as stable in an area hospital.

Police do not believe the 15-year-old was the intended target. Authorities are now investigating if the 25-year-old man was the target.
