Training camp has been filled with important positives for the 2024 New Orleans Saints. The latest update is an intriguing one for their most prized rookie from this year's draft class. Taliese Fuaga is proving to be wise beyond his years already.

Watch impressive rep by Taliese Fuaga vs. Chase Young

When asked about Fuaga, Young noted his patience and strength. He said that that combo, at Fuaga's size, forces him to change up his moves on the pass rush.

Clearly, the rookie is making an impression on veteran players. Young has been one of the best players in practice so far for New Orleans, so his input is quite valuable.

Tons of confidence in Fuaga around the Saints

Plus, Fuaga is impressing a proven NFL offensive lineman that is a leader for the Saints offense. That would be Erik McCoy. McCoy recently called him the best rookie offensive lineman he has seen since he arrived in New Orleans.

"He's the best rookie offensive lineman I've seen. ... But I think (Taliese Fuaga) going to be a lockdown. I’m a fan. That’s all I can say about him."

Saints OL coach John Benton has noticed Fuaga's physical and mental makeup as well. He's not like every rookie OL that enters the pros.

“He’s all in. He’s kind of been amazing in terms of - from a rookie standpoint - the amount of knowledge he’s able to take in and apply. … It has been absolutely outstanding, probably the best I’ve ever been around.”

There is no doubting that the Saints' 2024 first-round pick is making the most of his opportunity. Expect him to slot in as the team's starting left tackle to begin the NFL season.
