    Ulster County Fair ’24 opening in New Paltz. See what's on the schedule, ticket info.

    The Ulster County Fair will make its grand return to the fairgrounds in New Paltz from Tuesday, July 30, to Sunday, Aug. 4.

    Headlining this year’s fair is the Marshall Tucker Band, who will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Other musical acts include Joe Adee & the Lug Nuts, Mark Wills, Frankie Justin, Raelynn and Jake Hoot.

    The fair will also feature multiple live performances by Circus Incredible, chainsaw carvers and Carrie McQueen, stilt walker.

    Robinson’s Racing Pigs will host four shows daily, and Two by Two Animal Haven will offer several programs designed to “foster kindness and empathy for all living things.”

    This year’s fair will also see the return of a daily horse show, all of which are open for public entry except 4-H shows.

    Events begin Wednesday with draft horse pulls at noon, 4:30 and 7 p.m. The open western and ranch show will be held Thursday at 9 a.m., and the draft and light horse driving show Friday at 9 a.m. The Gymkhana will be held at noon on Saturday, and events will close with the open English horse show Sunday at 9 a.m.

    Local residents can enter the Ulster County Fair Baby Contest. Children up to 18 months old may compete for the $50 top prizes for Mr. and Miss Congeniality.

    Dreamland Amusements will provide midway fun for fairgoers, featuring more than 20 rides and games.

    A $20 individual admission ticket includes unlimited attractions Wednesday through Sunday, and Tuesday is carload night, in which cars of up to eight people may enter for a $50 flat fee.

    Seniors may enter for free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

    Sensory-safe hours, with no lights or music on the midway, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday through Sunday.
