Fernandez’s story resonates with Maher so much because the little girl reminds him of his daughter. Young Lilly was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in March and Maher has organized a team to support the Fernandez family, which includes fundraising. A GoFundMe has been created to raise funds for Lilly Fernandez’s medical and travel expenses.
