    Current, former Times-Reporter staff members win Associated Press awards for 2023 work

    NEW PHILADELPHIA ‒ The Times-Reporter received several awards this week from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors for work published in 2023, including third place for general excellence.

    Photographer Andrew Dolph won five awards.

    He received first place for best photographer; first place for best sports photo of the Kirkland Hornets celebrating victory; third place for best spot news coverage of multiple fire departments extinguishing a large brush fire near Midvale; third place for best feature photo of Frank Gibson pruning the Tree of Everlasting Life in Zoar; and third place for best sports photo of water girls practicing dance moves.

    Reporter Jon Baker won two awards. He won first place for best feature writer and third place for best columnist.

    Former reporter Nancy Molnar won two awards. She won first place for best news writer. She also won first place for best investigative reporting for a story about Dover investigating the light plant superintendent over ethical violations.
