Firefighters and medics from the New Philadelphia Fire Department along with New Philadelphia Police responded to the report of a car on its side at 12:55 p.m.

According to New Philadelphia Fire Chief Jim Parrish and Police Capt. Rocky Dusenberry, the woman was returning from a medical appointment nearby and suffered a medical issue that caused her to strike a telephone pole, before the vehicle the rolled onto its passenger side.

Parrish said the way the driver was situated inside the vehicle she was unable to escape on her own and was extricated after firefighters removed a portion of the vehicle's roof.
