NEW PHILADELPHIA, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Tips is now offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the solving of the murders of two New Philadelphia teens in October 2023.
PSP Troop L – Frackville Station is investigating the double homicide that occurred in New Philadelphia Borough, Schuylkill County on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
PSP says two suspects and the two victims, 18-year-old, Hunter Mock, and 16-year-old Angelito Caraballo made plans to go “shooting” at around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday in a heavily wooded area called, “The Sanchez.”
Troopers say all four men remained in the area for a short time before Mock was shot once in the head and Caraballo was stabbed several times.
According to investigators, both Mock and Caraballo were pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect 1 left the wooded area, returned to his vehicle, and fled toward New Philadelphia Borough.
19-year-old, Lamour Branch, who was also at “The Sanchez,” that night, fled through the woods, swam through several bodies of water, and later arrived at a nearby residence seeking assistance from the homeowners.
Branch was arrested as investigators released the search warrant on the homicide case and in it, police claimed Branch was allegedly involved in the incident. However, troopers have never named Branch as a suspect.
According to court documents, Branch was released from prison after his bail was reduced during a hearing to $10,000.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled on December 5 for the charges of burglary, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief from a different case.

The perceived level of complacency by the PSP in regards to the investigation and no arrests is disturbing and shameful. Make no mistake if one of their own was killed on duty out there they would be declaring Marshal Law and blowing through millions of dollars of taxpayers money in the process.
