ATHENS, Ohio — The building formerly occupied by Zoe Fine Dining is once again a restaurant that promises to become a new Athens staple. The Side Bar, located at 24 ½ E.State St., is more than a bar and restaurant; bartender Maryrose (who did not want to give a last name) described the business as “a third space” — a place to socialize that’s neither home nor work.
