NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – The second concert in the New Providence Summer Concert Series brought the community together for an unforgettable evening of music and fun, courtesy of New Providence Business, the New Providence Recreation and DID, and Union County.
This week's highlight was The Elefante Band, featuring a special performance by Kate Elefante. Kate captivated the audience with a heartfelt rendition of Sara Bareilles' "Love Song", with her father, Joe Elefante, accompanying her on piano. The musical talent ran deep in the family as Al Elefante and his brother Don led the band in energetic covers of Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville", Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", and The Drifters "Under the Boardwalk", among other favorites. The evening concluded on a patriotic note with a performance of "God Bless America."
The concert wasn't just about the music. Magician Simon Mandal entertained the children with his enchanting tricks, adding a touch of magic to the night. The Lions Club, a staple of the Summer Concert Series, was on hand grilling and serving hot dogs and water generously donated by Prestige Diner. Zita's delighted the crowd by handing out refreshing Italian ice.
Sponsors of the event lined Academy Street, mingling with attendees and enjoying the perfect evening. With the heat wave finally breaking, the community could relax and enjoy the music in a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere.
This year's concert sponsors include Presenting Sponsors: NJ Sharing Network, Advanced Financial Federal Credit Union, and Terrana Orthodontics. The Gold Sponsors are Prestige Diner, Davies Insurance Management, Clyde Paul Insurance Agency, Robertson Estate Planning, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Zita's Ice Cream, Elefante Music and School for Performing Arts, New Providence Lions, New Providence Recreation, and the New Providence Downtown Improvement District.
The New Providence Summer Concert Series remains a cherished community event, bringing families and friends together for evenings filled with entertainment, food, and fun. Stay tuned for next week's final concert of the series on Thursday, July 25, featuring Asbury Fever with the sound of Bruce Springsteen. Arrive early for the Green Challenge celebration at 6:30 p.m., which will include raffles and giveaways.
