Asbury Fever Caps Off Successful New Providence Summer Concert Series

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - On Thursday night, the final concert of the New Providence Summer Concert Series featured Asbury Fever, a band celebrated for their covers of Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and other rock icons. The series is made possible through the efforts of New Providence Business, the New Providence Recreation Department, DID, and Union County.

Before the concert, the Sustanable New Providence Committee along with the Recreation Department hosted a Green Challenge celebration and raffle for the 203 participants who took part in the Green Challenge environmental initiative. The park was packed with an unusually large crowd, spilling over onto Academy Street. The street was closed off to allow families to enjoy a magician and to accommodate the steady lines for free hot dogs and water provided by Prestige Diner and served by the New Providence Lions Club. Zita's also attracted a steady stream of visitors with their free Italian ice.

Asbury Fever, led by Brad Hobicorn, delivered a dynamic performance featuring hits from Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, John Mellencamp, and Bryan Adams among others. The band’s energetic set had the audience singing along and eagerly anticipating each song. The evening was a vibrant conclusion to the summer concert series, leaving the crowd excited and ready for next year.
