Big-hearted Ron Woofter doesn’t do anything half-heartedly
Ron Woofter knows basketball, bridge and business. A lifetime learner, he also knows that a little generosity can make a big difference in a person’s path to success. Though uncomfortable talking about his philanthropy, Woofter can pinpoint the moment when he decided he wouldn’t squirrel away his money. The lightbulb came on in college while he was watching the final scene of the black and white classic, “Going My Way,” with Bing Crosby.
Hundreds of bikers ride into Fort Jennings to kick off "Fort Fest"
FORT JENNINGS, OH (WLIO) - Patriotism filled the entire village of Fort Jennings on Friday as residents began a full weekend of festivities!. The Putnam County village kicked off this year's Fort Fest with the biker escort tradition of the POW/MIA wall as a way to pay tribute for our soldiers. Nearly 400 bikers, along with emergency and military vehicles, started their engines in Beaverdam and rode through Delphos, Kalida, and Ottoville before arriving back in Fort Jennings. When the bikers arrived, the streets were lined up with festival goers passionately waving the American flag, a sight that symbolizes the meaning of Fort Fest—to honor those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Stevens returns for Nashville Hitmakers show Saturday evening. Even Stevens, a homegrown, Indian Lake celebrity, doesn’t monkey around when it comes to supporting where he came from. For 12 years, The Nashville Hitmakers event has been used as an effort to support the Indian Lake Watershed Project and The Indian Lake High School’s Music Department.
VOLLEYBALL OPENS SEASON GOING 1-3 AT OHIO TOURNAMENT - ON ROAD NEXT WEEK TO INDIANA
Lima, Ohio - GSU's women's volleyball team opened the 2024 season playing four matches at the Defiance College Tournament in Ohio Friday and Saturday. GovState (1-3) beat Ohio Christian (1-3) on Saturday 25-20, 25-16, 25-20 before falling to host Defiance College (3-1) 25-18, 25-21, 25-19 in the final match Saturday of the two-day tournament.
