$25 million Baton Rouge road widening project could improve traffic
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A town hall meeting is set for early September to give Baton Rouge residents information about a $25 million road widening project. Community members in the Mickens Road area are invited by Councilman Darryl Hurst and the mayor to discuss the road project. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Full Gospel United Pentecostal Church at 6729 Mickens Road.

Matt McMahon and his recruiting staff traveled to McKinney, Texas, to extend a scholarship offer to a four-star point guard. Cameron Lomax is a 6-foot-1, 165-pound, four-star point guard from McKinney where he plays for Heritage High School. The Heritage Coyotes finished last season with a 22-12 record and a loss to South Oak Cliff in the playoffs. There are no crystal ball projections to land Lomax now, and no favorites to land him according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine.
