Country music in support of local animal charity

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Animal Charity of Ohio is putting on a country music fundraiser to support their new facility on Southern Boulevard.

“The Voice” singer Noah Spencer will perform, plus local country singer Mike Cunningham. There will also be food and drinks, and all ages are welcome.

The fundraiser will take place at Maze Craze in New Springfield July 31 at 5:30 p.m.

In addition to singing, Cunningham is in his last year of veterinary school and this isn’t the first time he’s supported the non-profit.

“I’m just very happy to be able to help them with whatever I can. I actually did my first clinical rotation with them as well, so I was able to get a ton of experience with what they do as a group and I immediately fell in love with it,” Cunningham said.

Jane MacMurchy with Animal Charity of Ohio said they don’t currently have a big budget.

“We are not so shy about the fact that we don’t have a million-dollar budget that we can just roll off everything that we want and need. So we are going slow and taking our time, and our goal is to raise those small chunks of money so that way we can do small bits of construction,” said MacMurchy.

Tickets are $20 and available until July 21. Maze Craze is located at 14070 Woodworth Rd (State Route 165) New Springfield, OH 44443.
