A home on one of the only private streets in Manhattan has just hit the market.

On the far west side of Manhattan, on a block that defies the street grid and most New York City real estate, several stately houses sit behind gates that show an address of 687 Greenwich St.

This is Greenwich Mews, and one of its seven dwellings is now on the market for $6.49 million, according to StreetEasy. It’s a rare offering, as the listings portal additionally shows only three home on the block have traded hands since 2015.

The for-sale property features a freshly restored facade and new windows. But the interior is a noticeably gutted blank slate. Still, there are 10-foot-high ceilings, four woodburning fireplaces, southern and northern exposures, oversize bay windows, a Juliet balcony and a roof deck. It means it’s a prime chance for a new owner.

“[The] raw 2,800 square feet interiors are now ready to be built,” reads the listing, adding that the property comes with Landmarks and Department of Buildings-approved plans to put more windows in the rear, finish the roof deck and add another floor, expanding the property to 3,400 square feet. (That latter bit requires further approval from the block’s Mews Association after closing.)

As well, a prospective owner gets access to the street’s shared amenities, namely a 1,500-plus-square-foot courtyard, a dedicated property manager and perhaps the most coveted resource in New York City, a convenience most dare not even dream of: a private indoor parking space.

Although unique, the gated stretch is far from alone in being a “secret” street in the city.

Washington Heights’ Sylvan Terrace and other tucked-away blocks including Pomander Walk, Sniffen Court and Love Lane Mews also offer exclusive, rarely available real estate in corners of Manhattan, which feel more from a story book than placed in New York, as The Post has previously reported .
