Alidoro , an Italian specialty sandwich shop, will bring authentic New York cuisine to the ground floor of One Madison Avenue at 23 East 22nd Street.

Per a press release from SL Green Realty Group , Alidoro’s new lease covers 1,004 square feet on the ground floor of the building over a 12-year period. Alidoro is one of three new tenants set to fill One Madison Avenue in Midtown South, meaning 63.6 percent of the tower’s 1.4 million-square-feet of space has now been allocated.

In an interview with What Now NY , Alidoro’s CEO Jon Streep shared that Alidoro at One Madison Avenue is the eighth deal by the brand. He anticipates the shop will open in 2024 most likely around Q4.

“We are so proud to be opening Alidoro in the historic space at One Madison Ave.,” Streep said in an interview with What Now NY . “We are excited to be working with SL Green, the largest commercial landlord in Manhattan and look forward to what’s to come. Growing our portfolio to include this new location in the Gramercy Park area is a significant milestone for our brand.”

Alidoro’s website explains that the business was founded in SoHo in 1986, serving Italian specialty sandwiches in the heart of the city. The brand serves 40 different sandwich varieties, cultivating unique flavor profiles built on Italian ingredients.

Dubbed by Time Out “a Soho Institution”, Alidoro is a well-established New York brand. Ten years before the sub shop was called Alidoro, however, locals knew the original Soho shop as Melapo. Long-time owner Alessandro Gualandi was known far and wide for his unmistakable demeanor in-store. Over the years, Melapo became the place to go for an old-school Italian lunch, and Alidoro carries that legacy on today.
