The neighborhood hub Jacob’s Pickles in the Upper West Side will be relocating later this year to a larger space.

In a meeting of Community Board 7, Jacob’s Pickles’ owner Jacob Hadjigeorgis revealed plans to relocate the Upper West Side location from 509 Amsterdam Ave. to 688 Columbus Ave.

Hadjigeorgis did not immediately respond to What Now NY ’s request for a comment.

According to Pickle Hospitality ’s website, Jacob’s Pickles serves mostly Southern cuisine. It has a domestic draught beer program and an extensive menu of comfort foods like fried chicken, biscuit sandwiches, catfish tacos and shrimp & grits.

Jacob’s Pickles has three additional locations in Moynihan Train Hall, South Norwalk and Dumbo. Jacob’s Pickles is under the umbrella of Pickle Hospitality, which also operates Maison Pickle and Tiki Chick .

The Upper West Side location, however, is starting an exciting new chapter. Hadjigeorgis spoke to Community Board 7’s Business & Consumer Issues Committee to discuss his application for a new application and temporary retail permit for a two-year liquor license.

“We are moving our current location of Jacob’s Pickles to this new location,” Hadjigeorgis said. “It’s giving us a little bit more space.”

He went on to discuss how the new space on Columbus Ave will double the amount of space for Jacob’s Pickles. Having previously been a Mexican restaurant, the space already has kitchen and seating infrastructure that will make Jacob’s Pickles transition to the new space easier.

Hadjigeorgis shared that he hopes for Jacob’s Pickles relocation to be complete by September.
