Consigli Building Group, a family-run, employee-owned construction firm with a Long Island presence, will acquire the New York and New Jersey operations of Lendlease, aglobal construction company.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

About 45 current, under-contract and pre-construction projects of Lendlease, an integrated real estate conglomerate headquartered in Sydney, Australia, will be acquired by Consigli, according to a joint statement from the two firms.

Established in 1979, the Lendlease New York office is a major provider of construction services in the New York metropolitan area with expertise in healthcare, life sciences, residential and mixed-use developments. Its New York City projects include the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Central Park Tower, Columbia University, the expansion of the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center and the American Museum of Natural History, according to the statement.

Consigli, which has 13 offices throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, including a Long Island office in Ronkonkoma, is a fifth-generation construction manager delivering upward of $3.1 billion in work annually. Consigli and Lendlease have a longstanding relationship and have worked as partners on many projects.

“Expanding our New York and New Jersey portfolio with the addition of Lendlease, a highly complementary business to ours, signifies our dedication to growth and excellence in this core market,” Anthony Consigli, CEO of Consigli Construction Co., Inc., said in the statement.“As we leverage our combined strengths, expertise, and capabilities, we’re poised to deliver heightened value to our clients with the greater ability to tackle more complex and ambitious projects. Consigli and Lendlease have a successful and longstanding relationship working as partners on many projects, and this acquisition is a natural fit.”

Claire Johnston, CEO of Lendlease Americas, said she is proud of what the firm’s New York office has accomplished over the last 45 years, adding that the transaction with Consigli is a testament to its track record of successfully delivering world-class projects.

As we have built our relationship over the years, I have long admired Consigli’s leadership and commitment to quality, safety and customer service,” Johnston said in the statement. “As Lendlease’s global strategy is redirecting its construction and development focus more closely to Australia, I am confident that our teams, under the trusted Consigli leadership, will ensure the future success for our clients and our people.”

Laura Bush, Consigli’s regional director for New York City Metro, said the Lendlease New York and New Jersey construction teams continue to execute highly desirable construction projects, particularly in the healthcare and life sciences market.

“Our mutual dedication to fostering strong client relationships will be a cornerstone of this combination, and our highly complementary businesses and cultures will propel us forward,” Bush said in the statement. “Consigli has been recognized as one of the best companies to work for in New York, and we are thrilled to welcome the Lendlease New York and New Jersey team to our family.”
