Raising Cane’s Continues Chicken Finger Takeover in New York City With Penn Station Restaurant

Raising Cane’s is bringing its Chicken Finger meals to Penn Station inside the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Concourse — one of the busiest commuter railroads and concourses in North America. Raising Cane’s Penn Station opened on Thursday, May 30.

Raising Cane’s first made its New York City debut on June 27, 2023 with the opening of its Global Flagship Restaurant located in the heart of Times Square. The Global Flagship Restaurant is the largest of the brand’s nearly 800 Restaurants across the country.

Since then, Raising Cane’s has been on a New York City “Chicken Finger takeover,” opening five Restaurants throughout the city in the last year including locations in Astor Place, Harlem, and two in Brooklyn. Cane’s plans to double its NYC Restaurant count by the end of the year.

Located at 1 Pennsylvania Plaza Concourse, the new Cane’s can be accessed through the main entrance at 33rd Street near 7th Avenue at the LIRR & Connecting Concourse. The Restaurant is located between the 34th Street Penn Station stop on the 1, 2, 3 and A, C and E trains, and is open seven days a week from 9 – 12 a.m.

Whether commuting, catching a game or concert at Madison Square Garden, or working in 1 Penn Plaza — the office tower aboveground — Customers will find the Restaurant’s location easily accessible for hot, fresh Chicken on the go.

“As a New Jersey native for 15 years and a New York City resident for 14, I’ve always known Penn Station to be a special place for blending and accessing communities,” said Raising Cane’s Area Leader of Restaurants Aimee Kessel in a statement. “We’re thrilled to expand our presence within the city by opening in Penn Station and serving our craveable Chicken Finger meals, freshly-squeezed lemonade, buttery Texas toast, and of course, Cane’s Sauce.”

Completed in 1910, Penn Station enabled direct rail access to New York City from the south for the first time — a foreshadowing of the Chicken Finger link between Louisiana-founded Raising Cane’s and New York City culture 114 years later.

Throughout the Restaurant, Customers can find old blueprints, train tickets and historical photographs of the original station and its development over time. Initially conceived to handle fewer than 200,000 passengers, the original Pennsylvania Station was a vast structure that occupied two whole city blocks. Modern-day Penn Station is the busiest transit hub in the Western Hemisphere with more than 600,000 daily commuters.

The new Restaurant will bring more Chicken Fingers and jobs to the city, with the Penn Station Raising Cane’s accounting for about 120 new job opportunities.
