Iconic TV star Judge Judy isn't just known for her brutal and direct attitude in court, she's also snapped up a pretty sweet real estate deal too .

The star, who's real name is Judith Sheindlin, has now listed her New York City penthouse apartment on the real estate market for a cool $9.5 million. The stunning Manhattan penthouse features four bedrooms and four bathrooms as well as a wraparound terrace with view of the New York skyline, and it's described by the TV star as "a jewel of an apartment".

Now listed for sale, the TV judge and her husband are looking to downside as they say goodbye to the sprawling apartment at 14 Sutton Place South that also features two powder rooms and a chef’s kitchen.

Sheindlin explained why the home is listed in an interview to Realtor.com as she said: "We’ve enjoyed this jewel of an apartment. Time to simplify." Sheindlin and her husband bought the apartment in 2013, but the building comes with a rich history including being designed by renowned architect Rosario Candela in 1929.

Sheindlin's stately apartment has been listed on the market by Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon, both of who have become known for their real estate knowledge and their way around the market after appearing on Billion Dollar Brokers and Selling New York respectively.

The property features floor to ceiling windows in sitting areas, allowing for the perfect view of the New York City skyline, and two sitting rooms come with built in fireplaces for a cosy interior feel. The kitchen features the latest appliances and gadgets, and there's both a formal dining room and outside dining for entertaining available too.

Postilio told Realtor.com: "The apartment is a jewel box, perfectly in tune with its tony Sutton Place address. The decor is elegant but comfortable and inviting."

Whilst Conlon added: "The wraparound terrace is an urban oasis, with panoramic vistas of New York’s iconic skyline and the East River."

The move to list the real estate property comes after Sheindlin has made some strong comments about Gen Z, refering to people born between 1997 and 2012. Speaking to Fox Business , the TV star said: "If you have a bunch of kids entering the workforce who say, 'I don’t like to work past 4 o'clock,' 'I don't work on Saturday,' 'Sunday is football...

"Well, if you want to be successful in what you do, you're supposed to be first in the morning, and close up shop. Somebody will notice that."

She added that Gen Z are also guilty of not understanding competition, or the value of trying to come first.

The star explained that her generation grew up differently, where there was an emphasis placed on trying to be the first or even to place second or third. She added: "They [Gen Z] grew up with a different philosophy. And they are the products of the philosophy, ‘Everybody gets a trophy."
