It was a night to celebrate the Black women of Broadway as three leading ladies took home their first awards at the 77th Annual Tony Awards, which aired on CBS.

Maleah Joi Moon , who soars in the role of Ali in Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen , won "Lead Actress in a Musical." The rising star kept her acceptance speech short and sweet, thanking God, her teachers, the Hell's Kitchen cast and creative and Keys for making her Broadway debut an unbelievable journey. She dedicated the award to her parents, who deferred their dreams to help Moon achieve hers. "I love you more than words, thank you," she said breathlessly.
