The 2024 White House race is going to the dogs as “The Daily Show” teams up with a voter registration organization to “encourage fans to rescue dogs and democracy.”

The Comedy Central show announced Monday that it’s partnering with animal rescue nonprofit Animal Haven and HeadCount to launch “InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy.”

The effort, a play on the show’s “Indecision 2024” coverage, will include an event in New York City — as well as this summer’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and the Democratic National Convention in Chicago — that will feature “pet adoptions, free giveaways, doggie swag, dog photoshoots, voter registration opportunities, special guests and more.”

The first of the canine calls to action, which is described as a way to bring voter registration and animal adoption together, will be held on Friday at a kickoff event at Animal Haven’s headquarters in Manhattan. The pup-filled campaign will then hit the road with voter engagement opportunities at adoption centers in cities across the country, according to Comedy Central.

Jon Stewart, who handles Monday night hosting duties on “The Daily Show,” tearfully paid tribute to his dog, Dipper, in a February segment on the show a day after his four-legged family member died.

“In a world of good boys, he was the best,” Stewart told viewers of Dipper, which he had adopted from Animal Haven.

“Boy, my wish for you is that one day you find that dog, that one dog. It’s just the best,” Stewart said.
