New details have emerged from the man who stands accused in a brutal sexual attack on a 13-year-old girl in a New York park, where he admitted to a drug addiction and recording the appalling assault, according to prosecutors.

Christian Inga went before a judge for the first time on Wednesday. He faces a list of accusations such as rape and kidnapping for the daytime attack on June 13. In the incident, he ambushed two teens in Kissena Park in Queens after school hours, coerced them into the woods at knifepoint and restrained them before sexually violating the girl.

Inga was apprehended in Corona on Tuesday following an intensive, city-wide search for him. He was identified by people from his local community who took the law into their own hands, detaining the 25-year-old and binding his legs together whilst they anxiously waited for police .

"I told everybody yo this the rapist . I punched him. I kicked him. I ain't gonna lie," Jeffrey Flores shared with NBC New York on Tuesday.

Flores had identified Inga from the NYPD wanted notices and recruited some friends to monitor a bodega on 108th and Waldon streets that he knew Inga frequented. The group bided their time for hours before Inga showed up, and they confronted him, notifying 911 immediately saying, "Come get him."

"He started yelling 'help, help' in Spanish . I was like 'Yeah that's what the little girl was saying,'" recalled Flores. "He desperately tried to escape, frantically running for his life but to no avail."

Flores reported that the suspect tried to hide under a vehicle until police arrived and apprehended him. Following a short hospital stay for injuries sustained during his capture by locals, Inga faced the court on Wednesday.

Inga did not dispute the sexual assault charges , according to Flores, a claim supported by a bodega employee present at the time. Investigators say that around 3pm, just after school ended, the boy and girl were in Kissena Park when a man with curly hair and braces approached them, demanding they follow him into the forest.

When they resisted, he is said to have brandished a " large machete-style knife " and coerced them into a secluded spot, where he tied their wrists with shoelaces before sexually assaulting the 13 year old girl.

The children informed the authorities that the assailant instructed them to remain in place for 20 minutes before fleeing with their mobile phones. They then returned to school and reported the incident , leading to a 911 call.

The victims received medical attention at a hospital . A shoelace, believed to be the one used to bind the children, was found at the crime scene. During his court hearing, it was revealed by prosecutors that Inga confessed to struggling with drug addiction .

He also allegedly told the police during an interview that he encountered the boy and girl near the woods, where he tied and gagged them before assaulting the girl.

He told officers he filmed the assault , but when asked about this detail, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz declined to comment further, stating it is "under investigation ."

DA Katz, reiterating the sentiments of the police from the previous day, praised the victims for their role in aiding the authorities to locate him following the harrowing incident that left the local community in fear and shock.

"This attack on two children in broad daylight in a city park strikes the very core of our society," Katz remarked. Senior law enforcement sources have disclosed that Inga is an Ecuadorian national who entered New York City in 2021 after crossing the border at Eagle Pass, Texas , with his then three year old son.

Inga, a dad of two, faces charges including rape, robbery, sexual assault, kidnapping , child welfare endangerment, among others. The prosecution argued that his immigration status made him a significant flight risk, which led the judge to order his detention without bail. Inga has also sought further medical care for facial injuries.
