Believe it or not, New York City has a “some risk” of tornados today. It shows how far the media has gone to cover weather, particularly the potentially hazardous events.

    Climate’s Financial Crisis

The Times has a tool people can use to look at the risk of “high winds,” “excessive rain,” “tornadoes, and “hail.” The categories for each are “some risk,” “moderate risk,” and “high risk.”

Today, there is an excessive risk of rain in New Mexico and Arizona, two virtual deserts. There may be severe storms in the Northeast, but no place in the US has any risk of hail.

    Media Alarm

The media has even issued alerts for places thousands of miles away from where people live. While this may be good for driving an audience, it is absurd.

If people are to take the weather seriously, the media has to take it seriously first.
