New York Yankees icon Derek Jeter celebrated his 50th birthday with a surprise party planned by his wife Hannah.

While the Jeters are usually private about their relationship and home life, the pair took to social media to commemorate the celebration and event. The Hall of Fame shortstop shared a cute image to his Instagram Story as the party went down at ZZ’s Club New York, a private membership club from Major Food Group inside Hudson Yards.

Jeter turns 50 on Wednesday. He captioned the image: “Great night celebrating thank you @hannahbjeter.” Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Hannah donned a black strapless dress by Prada as she wrapped her arms around Jeter’s neck while he held a cocktail in his left hand.

Jeter also posted photos of his surprised reaction when Hannah escorted him into the private party, writing: “When @hannahbjeter surprised me with an early bday party!”

The couple posed for photos with his parents, Sanderson and Dorothy Jeter, along with his sister, Sharlee. Several former Yankees teammates were also in attendance, including CC Sabathia, Tino Martinez, Jorge Posada, and Bernie Williams, as well as former team manager Joe Torre.

Party guests were able to dig into cuisine by Carbone, including caesar salad, spicy rigatoni vodka, Mario’s meatballs, chicken parmesan sliders, and grandma bread. There was also plenty of Cincoro Tequila to go around.

Derek and Hannah tied the knot in July 2016, two years after the 14-time All-Star and five-time World Series champion called time on his illustrious career. The couple share daughters Bella Raine, Story Grey, and River Rose, and a son, Kaius, who was born last year.

At Jeter’s Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2021, Hannah and their daughters Story and Bella were sat front and center. During a December appearance on the ‘Calm Down’ podcast with Fox Sports personalities Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson, Jeter explained how it feels to be a father.

When asked what his favorite part about being a dad is, he said: “Seeing them grow. Watching them learn [and display manners], that is the thing … I love coming home and them learning new things.”
