The New York Knicks have reportedly acquired forward Mikal Bridges in a trade with the crosstown rival Brooklyn Nets, adding him to a roster that already includes former Villanova Wildcats teammates Jalen Brunson , Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo , sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN 's Adrian Wojnarowski Tuesday (June 25) night.

"BREAKING: The Brooklyn Nets have agreed in principle on a trade to send F Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic , four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-rounder, sources tell ESPN ," Wojnarowski wrote on his X account.

Bridges, Brunson and DiVincenzo won two national championships together at Villanova in 2016 and 2018, while Hart was a member of the 2016 team before declaring for the NBA Draft in 2017.

"This is crazy lol," Bridges wrote on his X account following the reported trade.

"Omg," Brunson wrote on his X account.

"YO WE F*****G LIT," Hart wrote on his X account in response to the Athletic 's Shams Charania 's report of the trade.

Bridges is owed $23.3 million and $24.9 million over the two years remaining on his contract and can sign a two-year extension on October 1, which could add an additional three years, $113 million.

Bridges averaged 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists during the 2023-24 season and was an NBA All-Defensive First Team selection in 2022.
