Knicks make pair of first-round trades, select French wing Pacome Dadiet at No. 25 overall

The Knicks had back-to-back picks at Nos. 25 and 26 entering the NBA Draft, still had back-to-back picks after a deal, and then ended up with just one?

Indeed, in a quarter-hour flurry for the Knicks, they traded No. 24 to Washington for Nos. 26 and 51, selected French wing Pacome Dadiet at No. 25, and then dealt No. 26 to Oklahoma City for, according to Shams Charania, “five second-round picks that span 2025 to 2027.”

OKC has at least five and up to eight second-rounders in that span, depending on conditions and protections, so the exact parameters of that part of the deal won’t be known until next year’s draft order is set at the very least.

All in all, the moves will save the Knicks, who reportedly agreed to a $212.5 million extension with OG Anunoby earlier Wednesday, about $2.36 million (the scale for the No. 24 pick) while giving them some extra future assets (starting in Thursday’s second round).

That could actually be more id Dadiet stays in Germany next season, where he played last season for Ratiopharm Ulm and averaged 6.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-8 18-year-old wing was at the Draft, however, so he could be headed stateside.
