Knicks reportedly have 'no interest' in trading key guard

It seems as if Miles "Deuce" McBride is safe with the New York Knicks.

According to SNY's Ian Begley , the Knicks have "virtually no interest" in trading the 23-year-old McBride.

The Knicks could still add money to the blockbuster Mikal Bridges trade to prevent being hard capped at the "first apron." If they Knicks add more money to the trade, they'll be hard-capped at the second apron, which would give them more money to try to re-sign center Isaiah Hartenstein.

The Athletic's Fred Katz had previously reported that the Knicks had explored adding McBride, who makes $4.7 million in 2024-25, but had decided against it.

The Knicks cannot offer Hartenstein more than four years, $72.5 million, with a starting salary of $16.2 million for 2024-25. With Hartenstein expected to command larger offers, it makes sense that the Knicks wouldn't trade a key rotation member on a great contract, with no guarantee that Hartenstein will stay in New York.

According to Begley, the Knicks have had "trade dialogues" around third-string center Jericho Sims. The Knicks had picked up a team option for Sims, who may also be in play for the backup center role if he isn't traded.
