Capitol Hill’s once-popular Malaysian restaurant opened a second location in Belltown after its ownership change. But there’s no need to go out of your way to seek it out. The roti jala is fine, but the accompanying chickpea curry is way too watery to be scooped up. And the rusuk kedai—meaty baby back ribs—look more seasoned than they taste. The upside is grabbing a table or spacious booth is pretty easy during the week, and smaller plates like the summery and spicy kerabu timun nanas salad work. That makes it an okay spot to go with a group for a quick meal if you’re already in the neighborhood. However, those looking for the showstopping Kedai of yesteryear will be disappointed.
