The New York Knicks were able to nail a key part of their offseason by re-signing O Anunoby to a five-year, $212 million contract.

Anunoby was one of the most prized free agents of the offseason, and the Knicks used the fifth-year contract option to their advantage to keep the elite 3-and-D forward.

Anunoby's Knicks teammates are not only happy to keep such a valuable player around — they're excited for team dinners next year.

While speaking on the "Roommates" podcast , Jalen Brunson said the bill for team dinners will now fall on Anunoby's shoulders.

"As a team, we like to do dinners and stuff, we like to hang out — that now falls all on OG," Brunson said. "I can happily say that. Whether he's there or not, we can take his card, we'll go, it's on OG."

    Josh Hart agreed.

"I feel like that's the unwritten rule in the NBA: the guy that makes the most money picks up the tab for those," Hart said.

Anunoby is now the highest-paid Knick, and by quite a bit. According to Spotrac , Anunoby will make a projected $36.6 million in 2024-25, followed by Julius Randle at $28.9 million, then Brunson at $24.9 million.

Of course, Brunson could soon top that list, as he is eligible for a four-year, $156 million extension this summer. That extension would still be a team-friendly deal for the Knicks, as Brunson could sign a five-year contract worth around $250 million next summer. Either way, it's a substantial raise for the All-NBA guard.

Brunson said on the podcast that he woke up from a nap, checked his phone, and saw the news of Anunoby's contract and couldn't believe the total.

Brunson took to X to celebrate the signing.

On the podcast, Hart jokingly said Anunoby can now pick up bar tabs for any team celebrations.

    "Congrats to him," Hart said.

Brunson responded: "Congrats to us — we all won in this."
