Lainey Wilson Lights Up the Night Sky, Battles Strong Winds for Fiery Performance on NYC’s Highest Sky Deck

While many Americans looked to celebrate the 4th of July with cookouts, friends, and more than enough food, Lainey Wilson used her time to expand her grip on country music. With the genre entering a new era, singers like Wilson are looking to be at the forefront. And just within the last week, Wilson released new music videos for songs like “Hang Tight Honey” and “4x4xU.” Gaining praise from fans, it seemed that Wilson somehow found time to travel to New York City where she performed at the Macy’s 4th of July event on top of the highest sky deck in the Western Hemisphere.

With the sun setting, Wilson took to the sky deck to entertain a group of fans as the special broadcasted to millions across the country. But many noticed that outside of her powerful vocals, the singer dealt with strong winds given she performed over 100 stories above the ground. Even with the wind whipping around her, Wilson stayed focused as he gave yet another flawless performance that had fans showering her with praise.

Lainey Wilson Not The Only Thing Lighting Up The Night Sky On July 4th

Outside of Wilson, the event also welcomed stars like Brandy Clark, Luis Fonsi, Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, The War and Treaty, and several others. Excited about what the event has become over the years, Jen Neal, Executive Vice President for Live Events and Special at NBCU Entertainment said, “Year after year, this telecast never fails to inspire and awe, lighting up the New York skyline with a fireworks display that’s unmatched. It’s this type of live programming event that brings us together as a nation, highlighting the distinctiveness of both our NBC and Peacock brands.”

Besides offering a superb lineup of performers, the night also featured a fireworks display that included over 60,000 shells taking off from a slew of barges in the Hudson River. Lighting up the night sky, the display also featured numerous effects as the fireworks exploded high into the night sky.

As for Wilson, her two new songs will accompany her upcoming album Whirlwind when it hits shelves on August 23.
