Lainey Wilson Performs “Hang Tight Honey” And “4X4XU” 100 Stories Up In The Air For NBC’s July 4th Show

Fireworks weren't the only thing "bringing the boom" from high in the sky yesterday. That's because country star Lainey Wilson was 100 stories up in New York, New York blasting some of her hits from one of the tallest sky decks in the world. The Edge at Hudson Yards is the tallest sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, and served as the picturesque stage for Wilson's 4th of July performance, which aired as a part of NBC's Independence Day show. Being that high up in the air is great for views, but it's not always conducive when it comes to weather. Lainey and her band had no choice but to battle the high winds that ripped through the NYC skyline. If there's a silver lining to it all though, Lainey looked like a certified rock star with her hair blowing in the wind during her two-song performance. And speaking of wind, the tracks that Wilson cued up to get the sky deck rocking were "Hang Tight Honey" and "4X4XU," which will both be featured in her highly anticipated upcoming album Whirlwind , which drops August 23rd. Considering the name of the new project, maybe the gale-force winds high up in the sky during this 4th of July performance were all part of the plan. With Lainey releasing the music video for "Hang Tight Honey" earlier this week, along with the song "4X4XU" and the coinciding music video for it, the timing for this Independence Day couldn't have been any better. And as always, she completely rocked both renditions of her new songs that are sure to quickly become fan favorites... if they haven't already.
