    Should Mayor Adams be primaried? City Council leaders weigh in

    NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York City Mayor Eric Adams will be up for re-election in November 2025, and there are already rumblings that some Democrats may step up to challenge him.

    Leaders of the City Council sat down with PIX on Politics host Dan Mannarino and discussed whether Adams should be primaried.

    “I think so, I think that is what democracy is all about, having the ability to make a choice as to why represents your needs. In order for there to be a healthy democracy, there should be choices,” said Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala.

    “I’m going to watch and see what happens in this particular race,” said Speaker Adrienne Adams.
