Cam’ron, Ma$e Respond To J. Prince’s Hostile Comments Amid Shakur Stevenson Beef

Cam’ron and Ma$e have clapped back at J. Prince after he seemingly made threatening statements directed at the two rap stars-turned-podcasters amid their war of words with lightweight boxing champion, Shakur Stevenson.

The drama began last week, when the It Is What It Is cohosts gave Stevenson’s performance in his victory over Artem Harutyunyan a lukewarm reaction, deeming the fight “boring.” This would lead Stevenson to respond to Cam and Ma$e on social media, even making physical threats of his own, which the two Harlem natives did not take lightly.

Over this past weekend, J. Prince, Stevenson’s manager, put out a message of his own, deeming Cam and Ma$e’s appraisal as “hate” while sharing ratings numbers that indicate Shakur’s draw as an attraction among boxing fans.

“NUMBERS DONT LIE HATERS DO,” the Houston native began. “Let the haters say that he’s boring and nobody wants to watch him. Sorry to tell you it’s just a select few of you haters. As you can see there’s proof that he has the number one ratings in any fight on ESPN this year and the top three ratings since 2022.”

Prince then shot at those who have seemingly incited conflict with threats and statements of their own offering to cause physial harm to the boxer, as Cam had previously threated to “slap the sh*t’ out of Stevenson if the two were to cross paths.

“And to all of you haters who want to escalate that hate outside of the ring I’m Shakur’s manager and I handle all his business outside of the ring. In other words Cam and Mase I will fade all his shots and take all bets,” he added.

However, the It Is What It Is instagram account pointed out that Stevenson’s bout was not a pay-per-view event, and was free through local cable providers, thus diminishing the use of the previously mentioned metric. “THE FIGHT WAS ‘FREE 99’ SO YEA #’s DO LIE SOME TIMES,” the caption read. “NI**A MAD AT US FOR SAYING WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE SAYING INCLUDING THE PEOPLE WHO #SHAKUR WAS SIGNED TO ‘FOH.’”

The pair would also respond to the Rap-A-Lot Records founder’s seeming threats on It Is What It Is Monday (July 15), refusing to back down from their opinion while defending their right to have any reaction they want to a Stevenson fight.
