July 20-21: Black River Festival

The Black River Festival will be held on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday July 21 at the Challengers Raft Base, camping will also be available with honesty box contribution — suggested $10.

$5 entry fee per event. Winner of each event gets bragging rights and the entry fees of all participants for that event.

Saturday Schedule:

• 4 p.m.: Whitewater Kayak Race down the Black River Canyon
  • No boat restrictions
  • Course: Glen Park Falls to Shave & Haircut
• 6:30 p.m.: Raft Race from ARO to Hole Brothers
  • Le Mans’ start
  • 6 pack must be consumed prior to start!!!
  • Max team size 6, min team size 3
• 7 p.m.: Freestyle Kayak Hole Rodeo
  • ICF scoring
  • Best of 2-3 untimed rides (depends on # of participants)
• 8:30ish p.m.: Pool Toy “Floateo”
  • Whoever stays in the hole the longest wins
  • Honorable mention prize for coolest pool toy
• 6 to 9 p.m.: BBQ at Hole Brother’s Rapid
• 9 p.m.: Campfire at Challengers
• 10 p.m.: Awards

Sunday Schedule:

• 9:30 a.m.: Meet in this parking lot to set shuttle for a Fun Run
• 1 p.m.: Surfing Clinic with members of Team NRS at Hole Brothers
