Sabrina Ionescu Cements Status As Liberty Great After Dominant WNBA Win Vs. Sun

Sabrina Ionescu continues to be a force of nature for the New York Liberty. In their latest win against the Connecticut Sun, Ionescu went off for 30 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals while making six threes. This was Ionescu's 13th career 30-point game.

Ionescu has surpassed former Liberty great Cappie Pondexter for the most 30-point games in franchise history. The veteran guard credited the fans for backing her up in her performance, per Dustin Schutte.

"I mean, it's magical playing here, especially for me. With these fans behind, I feel like every shot is going in," Ionescu said.

The Liberty hold the best record in the WNBA with a 21-4 record after the win over the Sun. Leading the charge for New York is Ionescu, who is averaging 19.4 points and 6.2 assists this season on 42% shooting from the field and 34.5% from deep.

The WNBA will be taking a break to make way for the All-Star Game and the Olympics. Ionescu will be participating in both as a member of the US National Team along with other WNBA stars.
