Drug Church have announced that they’ll follow 2022’s great Hygiene with their fifth album, PRUDE, on October 4 via Pure Noise Records. It was produced and recorded by longtime collaborator Jon Markson, and it features 10 songs in 28 minutes that the band is promising to be more of the Drug Church you know and love. “The goal is to put out good records that sound like we do,” says vocalist Patrick Kindlon. “We’re not trying to do an OK Computer.” We have an exclusive neon violet vinyl variant available in the BV shop, limited to 300. The great LA hardcore festival Sound and Fury went down in Exposition Park this past weekend (July 13-14), and in addition to the surprise Touché Amoré set, it also had one of this year’s five Have Heart reunion sets as its day two headliner and Have Heart vocalist Pat Flynn’s newer band Fiddlehead closing out day one. Wild Pink have announced a new album, Dulling The Horns, due October 4 via Fire Talk Records (pre-order). His previous album, 2022’s ILYSM, was being written as bandleader John Ross was diagnosed with cancer, and he spent the album cycle telling that story. Dulling The Horns, he says, “came from the feeling of figuring out how do you deal with things and move forward and just keep creating.”
