Len Berman and Michael Riedel talked with Harold Kozak, a retired professor of Astronomy and NASA Solar System Ambassador, about the meteor that flew by NYC yesterday at 11:17 am. The streaking fireball caused a sonic boom that was heard throughout the tri-state area.

Kozak said, "The meteor was a N.E.O. (Near Earth Object) that probably came from the outer part of the solar system near the Oort Cloud called the Kuiper Belt. The object became dislodged when it collided with another meteor in the belt and pulled by gravity toward the Earth's atmosphere at 50,000 miles an hour. The incident should be considered a warning for the government, we need to support NASA's N.E.O. budget."
