While once playing alongside Kurt Cobain in Nirvana, the passing of the singer left a massive hole in the music industry and in drummer Dave Grohl. Wanting to still share his love for music, the musician formed the group Foo Fighters. Since the release of their first album in 1995, the band recorded a total of 11 studio albums. Their last, But Here We Are, hit shelves just last year. While touring and recording music, the Foo Fighter recently had to cancel a concert when dangerous weather moved in. Upset over the decision, Grohl shared his remorse for ending the concert early.

Performing at the Citi Field in New York, the Foo Fighters received a warm welcome from fans who traveled to see them. And while the band showcased numerous hit songs from their discography, the band sadly ended just after performing 13 songs. Releasing a statement about the sudden cancelation, the band wrote, “We are so disappointed that we were unable to play our full set for tonight’s fantastic crowd at Citi Field. But the safety of our fans, the crew and everyone working in the stadium comes first, so when it was determined that there was no safe way to continue the show in this dangerous weather, we had no choice but to call it a night.”

Although saddened by the decision and dangerous weather, the Foo Fighters added, “We’re grateful for every second we were able to play for you and looking forward to seeing you again – maybe as soon as Friday!”

Foo Fighters Welcome Black Sabbath Legend To The Stage

On Friday, July 19th, Foo Fighters will take the stage once again at the venue for another concert. Hoping the weather allows them to complete an entire concert, the band looks to make up for their cancellation.

Outside of the weather, Foo Fighters are known for putting on a stellar concert. During their final stop in the UK, Grohl teased fans at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham when he noted the surprise guest, “grew up three streets away from here.” With some fans still confused, he insisted, “Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath is going to come out!”

Both Grohl and Butler joined forces to cover Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” with Grohl taking over Ozzy Osbourne’s vocals.
