    Unrest in Bangladesh causing concerns among members of the Bangladeshi community in the Bronx

She says they've been unable to stay in contact. "My family, my friends, that's really painful. It's we didn't know what is happening the last 48 hours. We don't have any connections in the communication. Nothing," said Sarker. Sarker moved to the U.S. from Bangladesh in 2017 and is a community activist for fellow Bangladeshi immigrants. She says despite her community involvement here, she feels hopeless about what's going on in her home country. Mayor Eric Adams reacted to the ongoing situation in Bangladesh on X, formerly known as Twitter.
