It's nearly the end of an era.

Billy Joel will close out his historic 10-year residency at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. This will be the Piano Man's 150th performance here, marking the biggest arena run of all time at the venue.

The New York native played his first concert at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 24, 1978. Then, in January 2014, Billy Joel started his record-breaking residency at The Garden, playing one show every month. Just one year later, he broke his own record for the "most consecutive performances by any artist" at the 13th show of his residency.

    Story continues below photo gallery.

"I'm gonna miss doing it a lot," he told USA Today in April. "I love it. The band loves it. The crowd is a New York-crazy crowd. The minute you walk onstage you're aware they're rooting for you. The only way you could mess up that gig is to try to screw it up."

Are Billy Joel tickets still available for MSG show Thursday?

While there are only four days until his final show, you still have a chance to secure tickets to his final performance at the Garden. Given the historic nature of the show, though, expect to pay a pretty penny for your seats.

Currently, tickets are available starting at $575 on StubHub, $523 on SeatGeek and $477 on Vivid Seats. Resale tickets are also available on Ticketmaster for a range of prices.

And if you cannot attend his final show in person, it will air exclusively — not live — on SiriusXM's The Billy Joel Channel (79).
