A 24-year-old man in New York City has been arrested and accused of killing his brother’s family — including two young children — as well as his own mother, allegedly stabbing them to death inside of their Brooklyn apartment.

Shahboz Rajabboev was taken into custody on Sunday and charged with four counts of first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder in the slayings of his 56-year-old mother Mavlyuda Fayzieva, his 27-year-old sister-in-law Maftuna Khakimova, his 5-year-old niece Kamila Shavkatova, and his 4-year-old nephew Timur Shavkatov.

Relatives of the victims reportedly told New York CBS affiliate WCBS that the children’s father walked into his home on Friday and was the first person to discover the grisly scene.

“He’s just like, ‘I have nothing left. [Rajabboev] took everything. My two kids, my wife, my mother. He took everything,'” the family member reportedly told the news station. “It’s just very tragic, very heartbroken, sad, a lot of grief.”

According to a report from New York CW affiliate WPIX, officers with the New York Police Department (NYPD) at about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19, responded to a call regarding an assault in progress at an apartment complex on the corner of West 8th and Avenue P in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders immediately located 56-year-old Fayzieva suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck.

The New York Daily News reported that when the defendant’s brother arrived home Friday evening, he found Rajabboev inside of the home covered in blood with visible scratches on his face. The brother reportedly asked Rajabboev where their mother was, to which Rajabboev allegedly responded, “Go find her.” Inside of the apartment, the brother then found his dead mother’s bloody corpse.

The brother called 911 and told the emergency dispatcher that his mother had been killed, per the Daily News. At that time, he also said that he could not find his wife and two children.

In an odd twist, Rajabboev then also called 911 to report that his mother had been killed, according to the New York Post.

Police on the scene reportedly said they found the body of the brother’s wife in hidden in their bedroom closet. She had also been stabbed to death and her body was wrapped in a sheet. The two children were reportedly hidden inside of a closet in a different bedroom of the home. Both bodies had been stuffed inside laundry bags.

At his arraignment hearing on Sunday, prosecutors told the court that Rajabboev denied having any idea about what happened to his family members in an interview with police detectives.

Assistant District Attorney Tziyonah Langsam said Rajabboev claimed he “doesn’t know what happened” because “he took two grams of shrooms,” the Post reported.

No alleged motive has been disclosed, but amNew York Metro reported that the incident stemmed from a “domestic disturbance.”

Rajabboev is currently being held in detention without bond.
