NEW YORK (PIX11) — Alex Trebek, the late game show host who hosted the televised quiz show “Jeopardy!”, is being honored by the United States Postal Service with a “forever” stamp.

The show’s current host, Ken Jennings, announced the honor during Monday night’s episode.

“The stamp artwork evokes the style of the game – in which a provided answer prompts contestants to respond with the corresponding question,” read a product description where people can purchase forever stamps .

The white-on-blue text of the stamp reads, “This naturalized U.S. citizen hosted the quiz show ‘Jeopardy!’ for 37 seasons.” The correct response: “Who is Alex Trebek?”

Antonio Alcalá, an art director for USPS, designed the stamps, which can now be purchased at The Postal Store. A sheet of 20 forever stamps is currently priced at $14.60.

Trebek, who became the host of “Jeopardy!” in 1984, was a master of the format. He engaged in friendly banter with contestants, appearing genuinely pleased when they answered correctly. At the same time, he moved the game along in a brisk, no-nonsense fashion whenever people struggled for answers.
